christmas is coming

i haven't blogged in so long

i graduated high school

now i'm in college

a lot has happened

i now am a freshmas at BYU in the small town of provo, utah. i am a big girl now. i live in an apartment-style dorm with five other girls. yes, five other girls. it has been quite the transition from living with five boys and a mom to living with five girls...and no mom. i like to think i'm doing pretty well. except two of my roommates already moved out. we had a little disagreement. i'm not a very good at handling disagreements. but they have moved out either way. two new girls have moved in, and things are better.

its funny how you think you have everything figured out, and then come to realize things change. i still don't know what i want to be, but i'm having fun figuring it out. i'm pretty sure i come up with something new every day. my mom's probably getting sick of me telling her all the different things i want to do.

i'm home for the holidays, which is the nicest thing ever. literally nothing is as good as home. i love christmas. its my favorite time of the year. i have watched a different christmas movie about every other day. they're always on tv, and i stay up watching them. tonight, its deck the halls.

i'm going to try and keep up on blogging. this past semester i spent a lot of time doing nothing, now i can use that time to actually do something.

got angry and yelled at my roommate, then pretended i had been sleep-talking

wished i had a bedtime

spent hours watching tv on my laptop

avoided the library at all costs

missed nevada county

skyped my best friend

laughed way too much

Well lets see, I have not blogged for like a century. It's not like you don't know anything that happened, since I have facebook you can kind of see whats goin on. But I don't really get to tell the stories and stuff like I do on a blog. So I'm back on for now. My senior year is coming to an end soooo fast. I have my senior project presentation coming up really fast. For those of you who do not know what that is, it's some dumb project every senior has to complete in order to graduate. You have to pick something that interests you and do it for 20 hours. I picked "Volunteering at the Hospital" thinking it would be fun. Unfortunately it is the most boring thing ever. I stand around and do random things they need like restock gloves or get ice water or straws. This year has been the year of laziness + procrastination. I probably have the most absences ever recorded in history. This applies to school, seminary, and days I was supposed to work at the hospital. So now I have 12 hours of service and another 8 to finish in a week... not good. I will figure it out though. The most stressful week is the week of Sunday the 16th- Wednesday the 19th. Sunday I have my Young Womanhood Recognition, which I have yet to finish. Tuesday I have an all day festivel in Napa called the Golden State Festival, its kind of a huge deal. Then Wednesday I give me senior project speech. But after that I am donnnnnne. That Friday we have our Senior Picnic and then the next night is Senior Ball (of which I have a story regarding, I just need to wait and get some pictures). Then graduation is on the 12th of June. I cannot wait.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!!!

Today is a very special lady's birthday. My mom. Since she saw me doing this, its not a surprise. I had to look through all the pictures I could find and get her to allow me to post them. Let me tell you, finding pictures of her was not easy. Although she is soooo pretty, she hates getting her picture taken. What a shame. But the ones that do get snapped are always beautiful. Looking through those pictures was like a blast from the past. I got to remember all the 16 years I've got to spend with her. This is my last year with her at home, and I know I'll call her everyday. But I'll miss her like crazy. She's my favorite person in the whole wide world. I love her to death, and would do anything for her. She has helped me become the person I am today, and she sets an amazing example to follow. I know that when I'm a mom (someday far, far away) I want to be just like her. She's my best friend. Happy Birthday Mom!!

More Summer and stuff

okay, i will admit. the trek wasn't that bad. i guess it seemed worse when i was on it, but looking back, it was a good experience. i got stuck in a family with no one i knew, because my friend bailed on me last minute. so i thought that was gonna be a huge bummer. the first day was, because i didn't know anyone and it was so hot and walking in a skirt over bumps was so hard! i had to like change my stride and then it made my hips so sore. and the food...was questionable. the whole first day was just kind of awkward. but after that it got much better. i found a good way to walk that didn't hurt so bad. but i was sooo dirty! it was ridiculous. my hair was like crunchy from the sweat and dirt. i was so happy to take a shower. that night coming back was the best part. so now with the trek over my summer is pretty much done. the county fair is started so now its really over. i go get my locker and schedule tomorrow, so i'll let you know whats on it. senior year here i come!!

SUMMER...and stuff...

This summer has been pretty good so far. after school got out, i didn't do much of anything, but after a couple of weeks we went to utah. that was fun. then i had to come back for girls camp. that was not fun. we got new people to do the food this year, and they supposedly own a catering company. i would never get catered by them. i was so excited for the food, and it was disgusting. before we had a lady do it, and it was always pretty good. the first night was chicken tetrazzini, and i had no idea what it was so i texted chacha (its what you do when you have no computer, you ask a question, it sends you the answer) and it said it was a pasta dish with mushrooms. so it sounded pretty good (minus the mushroom part) and i love pasta so i was pretty stoked. but it turned out to be the most disgusting thing ever. the noodles were crunchy and watery, and the chicken was boiled and flavorless. so the first night i couldn't sleep cuz my leg was hurting, and then i was trying not to throw up the nasty dinner. me and my friend lauryn ate cheezits for dinner every night cuz the food was so gross. anyways...so finally girls camp ended. oh btw, i dont think i ever missed my mom so much in my life, and i was sooo excited for her to pick me up, and then she didn't even come. i got a ride with some else. so i cried.. yep. so then after girls camp i was so excited cuz we were supposed to be going back to utah. but then i guess we weren't. but then at the last minute we went. it was a fun little trip. and for the fourth of july i got to work at the stadium of fire!! it was only fun cuz we got to see the JONAS BROTHERS. and i also discovered i could never work in customer service. i have no patience for people. so now i'm at home, waiting for my next adventure...trek. and lucky for me! the lady that did camp food is now doing trek food. so i guess it'll be cheezits for dinner again. YUM.

WOW

Oh man, its been sooo long since i've done a post. i apologizeee. i haven't even been busy, just oh so lazy. well lets see..what has happened since my last post. well not much, i can tell you that. i have my license now. its pretty cool. gives me a little more freedom, i spose. school is almost out! i literally can't wait. idk why, but school is just too much. i really can't stand going. i'm pretty sure i had like 7 "sick" days this semester. but i guess karma caught up to me because now i am so sick. i've had a cold or allergies or something all weekend. it totally ruined my 3 day weekend. but whatevs. i have my demonstration speech in english tomorrow which i procrastinated as much as i possibly could. as in, i'm the last in the class to go. they all went the past two weeks. but i am doing it on basketball which is very easy since i have a lot of connection to basketball players and such. so really it will be me talking while kenyan and his friend marc demonstrate. my hair is like a wild beast because my mom had to go and get sicky-poo so now i can't wear it down till she gets better and can cut it. this summer, my dream was to move to utah and work all summer so i could come back to this forsaken place and have money to buy things. but no, i have girls camp and a TREK this summer which i cannot miss. the trek will be 3 days of NO shower, or stable bathroom, and gross sweaty people from my stake. i will try my very hardest to have a good attitude, but i will warn those on the trek to not test my patience, because i will have zero. as long as no one tries to tell me what to do, i think i'll be okay. i have a problem with authority. three more days of seminary, and 8 more days of school. this summer better be fabbb.

A NIGHT AMONG THE STARS

I'm in english 3 honors at my school, which is just like a.p. english. my teacher, mr. cartan is a very...um...eccentric person, and he sure does know how to throw a party. the juniors at my school all read THE GREAT GATSBY in english. in mr.cartan's class, he rents out the building where we have prom, the miner's foundry, and we have a gatsby party. for all of you who hav never read the book, its actually a very good book. the character JAY GATSBY throws these fantastic parties in hopes one day the woman he loves will walk in. so the two periods of english 3H get to do all the work, while the alumni from his other 3H classes years before just get to enjoy the night of fun. this year, the theme was Las Vegas (which is obviously a popular theme because Casino Royale was just voted as our Jr. Prom theme). After much controversy over the theme (a lot of the girls didn't want it to be dirty like the real vegas), it was finally set in stone. I did absolutely nothing to help, but don't judge because i can't drive so its so much harder to run into town for everything that you need to buy. anyways, the miner's foundry is decorated, and everyone comes in their 20's attire to enjoy a fun night. They serve sparkling cider in champagne glasses and people swing dance. For the first quarter of the night, our school's jazz band plays, then its mr. cartan's selection of 20's swing music. The rest of the evening is our music/dancing. Well I took a while to get ready, and ended up missing the jazz band and a lot of the swing dancing (darn...). thanks to jodi for making me an adorable headband :). these pictures are some my mom took, and some i stole off of peoples facebook.

sorry...i lied

okay well i definitely said that i would post quickly with pictures, and i lied. its been almost a month since i updated last...again. i am now 16, finally. i don't get my license for a little while longer, but no worries. for my birthday i went to kenyan's basketball game. sounds fun huh, but they won so it was okay. the next day me and my mom went shopping and i got some great deals at wetseal. i got some cute new clothes and bags and a cute pair of boots. nothing exciting has happened here. the towns like ten minutes away have gotten a tooonnnn of snow, and we didn't get any. its not fair. i'm just pretty much hanging out and going to basketball games. its pretty dang boring. thats my life lol...

hey ya

oh man, i'm very sorry for that. i haven't updated in so long. i don't even have a good excuse, i was just being oh so lazy. i can't find my mom's camera, but when i do i will let you all know about my christmas and presents. right now, school is boring and i cannot wait for the next break. well we don't have school tomorrow which is very nice indeed. it seems like all the shows are starting now, so i'm back to watching the tv like every night. i did have a nice little break when there was like pretty much nothing on, but i guess thats over now. here's my week in television: monday-the city, and heroes when it starts on feb. 2; tuesday- american idol, and the biggest loser; wednesday- american idol yet again, and lost; thursday- i get a break til survivor starts feb. 12; and friday- ghost whisperer and numb3rs. yup its a pretty full schedule. in between all that i have homework, mutual, and anything else that pops up. i like keeping myself busy though. well i decided you might not want to listen to my christmas music playlist anymore so i went ahead a made a new one for ya. my favorite song so far is mad by ne-yo. he has a nice voice. my birthday is comin up quick and i'm so excited. then in march i can finally get my license. don't be fooled by my background, i don't like the color pink, and i'm not excited for valentines' day. i'm so glad its on a saturday. some of you may wonder why, but trust me...if your not a little kid then you don't get candy, and if your not dating or married to someone you don't get candy. you just get to see all the other people walk around with flowers and candy. so really its pretty much the most jank holiday ever. well i promise i'll keep it up, and won't slack off watching all my tv shows and getting fat. jk. but really, i will post quickly with the pictures and such.

Last Friday i went to my friend Shayna's house so i could go with her to her ward's christmas party. that day it was decided by someone (who knows who came up with it) that thursday was going to be "Ugly Christmas Sweater Day" probably inspired by the new drake and josh christmas movie where they have an ugly christmas sweater party. well, i just had to be in on this dress up day, so me and shayna went around to different thrift stores in search of the ugliest christmas sweaters we could find. now, believe me, we have a TON of thrift stores here. no d.i., but a lot of hospice ones and a big salvation army. our first stop was the salvation army, and they have some of the ugliest clothes i've ever seen, but you know i was grateful that i didn't have to shop there regularly. they did, also have some kinda cute things, or at least things that could be cute in a kind of funky way. well everything there was kind of gross, and we didn't find any real christmas sweaters, so we went to the next stop. this was a little hospice thrift store, and we weren't expecting to find much. but as soon as the door opened, we layed our eyes on the most wretched sweaters i've ever seen. they were perfect. so of course we grabbed them, 2 for $4, what a deal. so we decided to wear them to the christmas party. on friday nights, our little city of grass valley, which is the cutest little mining town ever, has whats called "cornish christmas". they block the main streets off and people dress up, they have a nativity seen and people have little booths to sell things. its so much fun. well before we went to the christmas party, we decided we needed to make our outfits even uglier, so we went to the dollar store and tried to find ugly glasses, but they only had kinda cute ones. well we got a pair and popped the lenses out bc neither of us need glasses then we were off to the partay. the grass valley ward (which is the ward shayna is in) has a lot of older people, and they didn't get our little outfits, and all thought the sweaters were so cute. and then we saw a lady that had a sweater just like ours and the SAME glasses. she probably didn't think we were very funny. well anyways, today was the official day and me and shayna wore our sweaters. only like 5 other people wore them, but thats okay bc ours were the best.

well, i figured maybe people wouldn't want to read about michael phelps's nasty picture anymore (not to mention now he has a NASTY gf to go along with it) they both take gross pictures so maybe thats why they like eachother bahahah. oh well, he's goin on down the drain. well anyways... my grandparents came up to visit us from texas on thursday and spent the weekend with us. it was really fun, and i hope they come again sometime soon :) i wish i had pictures, but i unfortunatly do not. we went to kenyans basketball game, which was at 8:30pm on a school night and an hour away (i'm such a rebel) well it was an AMAZING game. we were down 15 in the 4th quarter and then we caught up and beat the other team in overtime. my very own brother had 24 pts. i love love love going to the games. i look like the little girl from remember the titans though (if you don't know what i'm talking about then go watch the movie and you'll understand), i get so into them. there next couple of games are all far away on school nights, but i don't care. they are so worth being dead tired the next day. if only my mom would let me go... jk i'd need a ride anyways and those are hard to come by when the games 2 hours away. maybe i'll get lucky. i hope the team dominates, but i know they will cuz they hav some mighty fine players. i meant that skill wise...

EWWWWW!!!

Okay, everyone should now by now that i am a HUGE michael phelps fan. i love love love him. he was recently in people magazines issue that stated the "100 sexiest men alive". for those of you that haven't seen his picture in it, don't waste your time. my friend told me that he was in it so we went to go look at it and it is one of the most disgusting pictures ever. i could not believe he would pose in a picture like that. it was the most unattractive photo of him i've ever seen. it almost makes me like him less..almost. i wish he would've drawn a line there and not taken the picture. sorry i know people are probably going to want to go look at it, but don't it makes him look disgusting and i'm embarassed for him that tons of his fans are gonna go look at it and be grossed out, or at least the mormon ones haha jk.

he should stick to these candid shots of himself there cute :)

okay, so i guess that some people could argue that november 9th is a little early to put christmas music on your blog, but you know what i say to them? too freakin bad. i start listening to christmas music as soon as november starts, and i don't stop till i see the sun again on a regular basis. which is usually around february. oh and i don't listen to anyone but josh groban...and occasionally mariah carey. but mostly josh groban because he's my favorite person in the world. i think he has the most amazing voice ever. he's cute too. i LOVE him. thats how he'll smile on our wedding day. jk. not really.

halloween is comin up so fast, and i don't really know what i'm gonna be. well i do, but if that doesn't work then i need a back up plan. its gonna rain here which sucks pretty dang bad. rainy halloweens are the worst. so anyways i was brainstorming in my head of like popular things that came out this year and what-not, and i thought, dang if i were chinese i would soooo be kailan. for those of you that haven't had the pleasure of watching Ni Hao, Kai-Lan, i'm so sorry bc its probably the best animated in the history of animated shows. and they owe it all to the theme song. if you haven't heard it, go on youtube right now and listen to it. its the best...ever. so let me introduce you to her amazing pets with amazing names. here we go.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMA!!!!

i know, my post is a little bit late. today was my mom's birthday. i love her so dang much. i look up to her so much. she is such a good example of being an incredible mom and wife, and shes always willing to do anything to help. she's so patient, and she has so much faith. i strive to be like her every day. i'm so blessed to have her as my mom, and even though sometimes i don't listen to her.....i love you mom!!! i'm so glad that i'm able to be your daughter.

POWDERPUFF/HOMECOMING BLOWOUT

for any of you that don't know what powderpuff is, let me explain. Powderpuff is when a bunch of junior and senior girls get together, put flags on and kill each other....while throwing a football. It's supposed to be a junior team vs a senior team in NO contact flag football. ha like that happens. its what girls look forward to being juniors for. the boys are cheerleaders (usually it ends up being really weird guys that nobody wants to see in a skirt) and football players coach the girls team. its a tradition, and the seniors always win. but not this year. they talked so much crap about the juniors, but the juniors ended up winning. it's also a tradition that every homecoming week it is in the 80's and sunny until the day of the powderpuff game when it drops to about 37 degrees and we have to sit out in the cold and watch for an hour. i wish i could've taken some pictures, but i don't have a camera. i didn't get to play this year, thanks to my mother, but next year i'll play and hopefully i'll have a camera by then. so we had our homecoming game also last night. we won 77-7. ya it was a blowout. it wasn't even fun to watch. we were up like 60something-7 by the first half, and in the 2nd half no starters went in. it was kind of sad, and it was not enjoyable. a ton of people left at half time. oh, and did i mention it was like 30 degrees? yep it was the second coldest thing i've ever sat at for a long time. our homecoming is tonight, but i'm too tired and lazy to get ready, so i'll just wait for a while. the homecoming court was announced at half time last night, this is the only picture i got. i stole picture of the jr powderpuff team off my friends facebook.

BEAT HER TO IT!!!

haha i beat my mom. so our team won. actually, saying they won is an understatement. We MURDERED them. the score was 51-0, and in like the last 47 sec of the 4th quarter, they just stopped the game and said we won. it was kinda sad for them, but i'm soooo happy we won. high school football games are the best. i tried to take a picture of the team with my phone, but i couldn't. the next home game is homecoming!!! i'm so excited. i'll try and get some good pictures then.

sorry i haven't updated in a while, my mom stole my blog topic about the football game. but there's another one on friday so i'll just have to jump on it before her. so the other day i just decided to go on the computer. then my friend told me that i should go on a certain site. i'd been on this site before, and even had an account, but i really didn't like it so i deleted it. this time, she said that there are way more people on it now. this certain site just happens to be facebook. and it just so happens that so many of you fellow bloggers have one and have decided not to share that information with the rest of us. why? who knows, but i'm just gonna come right out and admit that i have one. :) this wasn't really a real post but if we win on friday than i'll be sure and post again.

driver's beware

Once upon a time in a far off place there was a princess. She was a smart child and was young for her schooling grade. But while all her friends went to get there licenses, she was stuck at home waiting just to get her learners permit. Finally one day, her mom took her to a magical place called the DMV. There she took the test which would give her the permit. She could only miss 8 out of 46, and was very nervous about it. Somehow, she managed to pass and missed only 5. So now.....

so i think i can't dance

today i had my first beginning contemporary dance class. it was pretty hard. the dancers on so you think you can dance make it look SO easy, but it is not at all. first we had to stretch forever and i am not flexible at all. then we had to do crunches and bicycles which i love to do, so it wasn't bad. then we had to put our arms out and do different exercises and my arms felt like they weighed 50 million pounds. and then she's like....ok now improv in the dark. i had NO IDEA what to do, and i'm so glad it was dark lol bc i prolly looked so stupid. i really wish it just came naturally, but it doesn't. so i'm gonna work at it, and i'm gonna be soooo sore tomorrow i won't even be able to stand it. but i'll be so buff one day. oh and btw the teacher is some like 20 year old who dances in like 7 different companys AND has taken classes from Mia Michaels AND her main dance teacher was Katee's dance teacher. crazy stuff. so she's pretty legit.
